Neon lights glow through the science of excited atoms. When electricity passes through a sealed tube of neon gas, electrons jump to higher energy levels. As they return, they release energy as vibrant light, creating dazzling displays in cities worldwide.

My Philosophy

Philosophy:

My philosophy is simple. To provide the access and the open-mindedness that students deserve. Students, in this modern era, are not far from technology, in one form or another and having the skills to use that technology is a simple key to success. If we can provide a safe and productive learning environment for students to grow and thrive, then we can facilitate the building of their foundations as technology changes and adapts to the classroom. Using the Social Media platforms to communicate with our classes may seem a bit precarious, but meeting students on their own ground is important for the classroom engagement. I want to smartly use these devices to showcase how influential one post can be. As Cicero once wrote: “Others will write; many will bring me the news; much too will reach me even by way of rumor.” Social media does not have to be a negative experience. Partnering with other teachers and administrators within a professional learning network can help keep on top of new technologies that can be utilized in the classroom as well as integrated into lesson plans. The best way to understand what the kids are doing is to be a part of the ecosystem they are in. Within the professional learning network, I will create pages where articles and new research will be posted, those within the network can discuss and share ideas based on these articles and research papers. By keeping and maintaining an open platform to share ideas and struggles and resolutions, educators can build a solid foundation of experience and encouragement.
